Great little adapter that works perfectly and is nice and portable, really does not work with Macs

So I do this mainly to connect my work laptop to one of my monitors at home while working from home, the monitor only has VGA and DVI and the laptop only has HDMI and USB-C which is obviously great for compatibility. When I saw this I thought it looked like a really good small sleek solution to my problem especially as I have tried HDMI to VGA adapters before and never had any luck with them.
The packaging the adapter came in was very minimal with just a card bag and a plastic bag, but I guess the device is compact and sturdy enough to make it hear safe even with very little protection. It really is just as small as it looks on the product page and that makes transporting it very easy, I intend to stick it in my laptop bag when I travel with it as you never know when you might need to connect to an old monitor or projector.
So I use Macs for my personal computing and when I saw that this did not support specifically MacBook Pro’s and Mac mini’s I was very surprised and it just so happens those are the two models of Mac I have. But I don’t really know why the video output on those devices would be different to any other computer. But after trying it genuinely it does not work with either of my Macs. But the device works perfectly with my Windows laptop. Very strange but I cannot fault the product as it is clearly mentioned on the product page.
