Great little pliers but I have a few concerns
So I ordered the Isheeny Hair Extensions Pliers as they look like a good little set of pliers and I thought they would be very useful for DIY projects, but also my partner is a hairdresser and I thought she could also use them for their intended purpose.
– They seem to be well made and sturdy design, especially for their size.
– Nice materials, the metal head of the pliers feels strong and considering the delicate work they are intended for they seem perfect
– Grippy handle with a nice feel
– They came with excess oil around the joint.
– If you are looking for generic pliers, I’m sure there are cheaper alternatives
So when these arrived I was relatively impressed at first, they are very small which I believe is useful when working with air extensions. The build and materials all feel really good, I do not feel like they are going to break or bend anytime soon. But one thing that was a bit of a concern was that there was quite a bit of brown residue around the joining mechanism. I have included a photo which shows it, I believe this is an oil used to lubricate the mechanism but it was able to rub off and the first time I used these, it was on a white plastic and the oil came off and was left on the plastic. After this happened I simply wiped the oil off the pliers to stop this from happening in the future, but I’ve not known this be the case with a set of pliers before.
My partner is a hairdresser and I assumed she would have a use for these with extensions, she has used them once so far on some feather extensions and she seems happy with them, she is provided with a set at work and she said these are nicer to use, but it might just be that these are newer, but the only complaint she had is that the tip isn’t quite as narrow as the other ones she uses and that can make them a little less precise.
Overall, if you specifically need a set of pliers for working with hair extensions then these are a pretty good bet, but I would recommend cleaning them first. Although if you are looking for all-purpose general use pliers then I would expect that you could pick up a comparable pair for much less and they would do just as good a job.
