Child Safety Cupboard Locks

Child Safety Cupboard Locks

Not so sticky, but good for early toddlers

We bought these child safety cupboard locks when our little boy started crawling and was finding his way to our cupboards.

Firstly the delivery was longer than I expected I believe it was about 2 weeks l so bear that in mind if you are desperate for these.

When they arrived we attempted to attach them using the adhesive pads, but it was clear that it would not be strong enough to stop our child from opening the cupboards. So this meant that using the screws was the only option, this was not ideal but we needed something in place.

While our child was crawling these worked great at stopping him getting into our cupboards, but once he started walking he was quickly able to use enough force to open them. He has actually been able to break two of them, as shown by the pictures attached. This is not great, especially the one where the screws have come out, as the surface of our draw has been ruined.

Two notes on using them, when installing the child safety cupboard locks make sure you depress the pads as much as you can while lining them up, this will help make sure when you close them they ‘automatically’ Close. The other thing is that lock to keep them open when installing on a door that opens from the right side will be resting down on the notch, which means often they get accidentally locked open.
