Nifty little wall charger great for anything powered by USB

With all of the items available now that want to be powered via USB but seem to refuse to come with a wall socket adapter, I was really struggling to try and power everything in my home office from just a couple of wall chargers. When I saw this one it looked really high quality and the display would be useful to work out the most optimum way to charge my more power-hungry devices.

When it arrived the packaging did throw me a bit at first as the bag it came in said ‘mobile phone charging cable’, I thought to myself I hope that is not what is inside the bag. This did make me a little dubious but once I had the adapter out and removed the plastic film it was clearly pretty good quality, the adapter has a really nice shiny black finish to it, but I will say it really is a dust magnet. I have put It down in a power strip under my desk and it is already getting pretty dusty.

So the main device I wanted this for was my iPad pro as with a normal ‘phone’ charger when I am using the iPad at the same time as charging the battery level actually decreases. So this allows me to check the amperage that the cables are able to achieve, and I was quite shocked to find that one of the cables I have been using and thought was quite a good cable actually could not achieve 1amp when testing the cable that apple provided with the iPad I was able to get 2.24amps which really does make a difference.
