High quality but very wide
Upon receiving the Flat Slim HDMI Cable my first impressions were very good, the cable seems really well made, sturdy and high quality, nothing feels cheap. The cable itself is braided and the ends are metal and plastic, but even the plastic feels tough and has a nice finish.
The cable is a bit wider than I expected which does make it a bit bulky, you can see from the photos I’ve attached, it is pretty much the same width as the port, I intend to keep this in a bag with a laptop so I can connect to external displays when needed, so I would have appreciated it being a little smaller and more portable. But the flat design means it does not get tangled and is easy to route. The length of the cable is really nice as well very versatile without being unwieldily.
It comes with a small Velcro tie to keep it tidy, this is a nice addition and it is easy to re-wrap, in the second image I’ve attached of the cable cooler that is after I have used it and wrapped it up myself.
I tested it out in my Nintendo switch and it worked perfectly, but one thing to note is that it only just fit in the cable management system at the back, so if you are planning to wire this through a tight gap it might just be worth double-checking the width you have available.
