Really high-quality cable, but is it worth the price?
We have been using cheap lightning cables for our phones for quite some time now but over time it became clear that the rate we were getting through them that it would be more cost-effective to get one good one and have it last a while, which is why we ordered the August Apple Lighting cable.
– Nice quality
– Attached cable tidy
– Expensive
– MFI certified
– 1 Meter length is the same as the ones Apple includes with devices
So when this arrived as the box it came in is quite nice and the cable is tucked inside in a smaller cardboard sleeve. The cable itself was nicely wrapped with this cable tidy which is attached to the cable and is not removable. The cable does pretty high quality and definitely seems more sturdy than the original ones that Apple provides, the cable is tightly braided and the connector ends feel metallic and do not seem like they are likely to break soon.
My biggest issue though with this cable is the price, I think that for the cost of this I have had some good cheap cables that feel sturdier than this, although not quite as sleek. The thing is for less than half the cost of this single cable I have had multiple longer cables that feel thicker and stronger. The fact that this one is Made For iPhone certified is really nice and it means you should never see any of those annoying messages about incompatibility, although I do find those very rare now with other cables.
